John Meetz

John Meetz serves as CEO/Owner of The Alternative Board (TAB) Business in South Central Kansas.

John spent 40 years as the CEO of the Kansas Livestock and National Cattlemen’s Associations and later as COO of Koch Industries Beef Company. He then was a founder with five other principals of a large integrated beef company that was structured to eliminate value chain waste and meet the requirements and expectations of a large retail customer.

John has served as consultant to more than 25 companies with a focus on planning, strategy and organizing each business to achieve their company vision.

Areas of specialization include feasibility studies, developing strategic plans and organizing human resources by defining roles, responsibilities, expectations and structure.

The South-Central Kansas Territory of The Alternative Board was acquired in 2014. John completed the training and received the TAB Certified Facilitator/Coach designation. Now he facilitates small and medium sized business owners and CEOs to connect their personal visions to their lives and businesses to be more efficient and successful.

He earned BS and MS degrees from Kansas State University.

Ashley Thill

There is a relatively small segment of leaders in the business world who seem able to build relationships, trust and rapport with almost anyone and upon those relationships build partnerships and alliances that create optimum outcomes for business owners, clients and employees. Ashley Thill is one of those people.

She is President/CEO of Zernco, Inc., a general contractor based in Wichita, Kansas. Under Ashley’s leadership, Zernco has been recognized by the Wichita Area Chamber of Commerce as Small Business of the Year and by the Wichita Business Journal as the Best Place to Work. Ashley began her career by spending fifteen years in the world of investments and insurance. An additional eleven years were focused on financial operations and executive administration in the construction industry. Throughout her career Ashley has consulted with entrepreneurs and business owners helping them to develop effective strategies to make their business dreams become reality. In 2017 she founded AZ Advisory Group as a platform to reach the broader business community with her vision and ability to effect change.

Areas of specialization include strategic planning, operational efficiency, developing profitable market strategies, implementing workforce development strategies, organization development and effecting change.

She serves on the Board of Directors for the Association of General Contractors for the State of Kansas, WeKan, the Wichita Area Technical College, and volunteers with Youth Entrepreneurs.

She completed the training and received the TAB Certified Facilitator/Coach designation to help small and medium sized business owners and CEOs achieve business success.

Ray Frederick

Whether as a professional, a volunteer or a family man, Ray Frederick, Jr. believes in excellence achieved by serving, educating and encouraging others.

He is the past president/CEO of the Wichita Independent Business Association. He has served as chairman of multiple industry boards and associations including Kansas Stakeholders (trade council). His workforce development interests include having served on the Board of Directors and as the Interim President of the Wichita Area Technical College (WATC) as well as on the USD 259 Bond Oversight Committee. He has supported his community by serving on various city and county committees including the Design Team for Consolidation of Code Enforcement and the Diversity Advisory Task Team (Chairman).

As the previous owner and president of Frederick Plumbing and Heating in Wichita, Kansas, Ray combines his business acumen with his master certifications in plumbing, HVAC and refrigeration to provide a customer experience that has fostered repeat clientele and referrals upon which he has continued to build his successful business. His deep interest in senior citizens’ quality of life led him to Keystone Support Services where he serves as owner, vice-president and geriatric care specialist.

Areas of specialization include uniting people to work towards a common goal building camaraderie and teamwork along the way, recruiting and retaining great employees, and strategic planning to achieve business growth and profitability.

He has completed the training and received the TAB Certified Facilitator/Coach designation.

Wade Marquardt

Wade Marquardt is a retired oil and energy industry executive for Koch Industries’ subsidiary Flint Hills Resources, LLC with knowledge and experience in finance, risk management, procurement, accounting, real estate, management, and compliance system design and implementation. Wade is versed in the Market Based Management business philosophy having been a trainer at Koch Industries.

In 2016 after retiring from Koch Industries, he founded Wade Marquardt Consulting. Areas of specialization include financing (including corporate venture capital financing as both lender and administrative agent, revolving credit facilities, mezzanine debt, convertible notes, term loans, bridge loans, mini-perm loans, etc.), treasury and cash management, market and credit risk management, contract negotiation and administration, procurement, accounting, real estate (1031 LKE), acquisition and divestiture due diligence, lease vs. buy decision-making, and performance measures; working with rating agencies from acquiring initial ratings through maintenance of ratings through agency surveillance. Wade designed and served as Compliance System Owner of Flint Hills Resources’ Anti-Corruption and Anti Money Laundering Compliance Systems.

Wade served as a Director of Excel Paralubes Funding Corporation, as joint venture between Phillips 66 Company and Flint Hills Resources, LLC. Wade was also on the founding executive teams of railcar leasing company Koch Rail, LLC serving as its principal financial officer though set-up and initial growth phase.

He serves as Business Plan Advisor with Youth Entrepreneurs working with high school students on development of entrepreneurial business models. He also serves on the Supply Chain Management Advisory Committee for the University of Oklahoma.

He received his bachelor’s degree in Business Administration with minors in Accounting and Economics from the University of Oklahoma, and graduated with highest distinction.
